The new Kairiki G5 is a Shimano braided line with unique properties.
This four-strand braided line uses a core strand made from a material with a higher specific gravity. As a result, this is a fast-sinking line that offers anglers several advantages. The line is heavier and therefore less affected by wind during casting and by current during the lure’s initial descent. This allows the angler to gain control over the lure more quickly.
During the sinking phase, the line sinks faster than a regular braided line, making it easier when fishing deeper – especially with lighter rigs. Other high-specific-gravity lines include nylon and fluorocarbon, but compared to them, Kairiki G5 has zero stretch and significantly higher breaking strength.
