The new Kairiki G5 is Shimano’s braided line with unique properties.
This four-strand braided line uses a core fiber made from a material with higher specific gravity. As a result, it is a fast-sinking line that offers several advantages to anglers. The line is heavier and therefore less affected by wind during casting and by current during the initial descent of the lure. This allows the angler to gain control over the lure more quickly.
During the sinking phase, the line sinks faster than a conventional braided line, making it easier when fishing deeper – especially with lighter applications. Other high-specific-gravity lines include nylon and fluorocarbon, but compared to them, Kairiki G5 does not stretch at all and has significantly higher breaking strength.
