Description
The new Lowrance HOOK² series fishfinders distinguish themselves from previous Hook series fishfinders with their even greater ease of use. Regardless of the HOOK² model, the fishfinder now automatically recognizes the transducer type upon startup. Additionally, the fishfinder continuously adjusts the transducer settings during use according to need, keeping the image at maximum quality, eliminating the need to constantly press buttons yourself. However, if you have your own vision and want to squeeze something extra out of the fishfinder, you can naturally turn off this automatic mode with a couple of button presses. Essentially, this means you put the transducer in the water, connect the cables, and everything works automatically. In the new series, the 4″ fishfinder is the smallest. Furthermore, the 4″ screen fishfinders are for the first time rotated to a horizontal position, analogous to larger models, to increase ease of use. The fishfinder also has an Estonian language menu.
This model has a simple GPS that allows you to track your location, movement trajectory, and save necessary points (e.g., fishing spots). However, this device does not have a map slot and cannot add depth charts of water bodies. If you need this capability, then look at the Hook2-5 HDI model, which is the most affordable fishfinder with map usage capability. The transducer is down-looking, a simple single-frequency Bullet-type (200kHz) with an expanded viewing angle, which shows fish and bottom contours well under the boat.
